Job description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to assist in the running of the Finance department. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for numbers and a desire to build a career in accounting. You will enjoy a varied role working on a wide range of tasks, such as:

  • Processing purchase invoices and accurately tracking delivery notes and credit notes.
  • Processing of sales invoices.
  • Assisting with month-end procedures.
  • Accurately recording accounts information in SAGE.
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers.
  • Providing support associated with the management of the company accounts.
  • Learning to undertake all responsibilities, including balancing accounts, VAT returns, payroll and Inland Revenue returns.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Accounts qualification an advantage.
  • Knowledge and previous experience in using SAGE accounting system, particularly Purchase Ledger.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Good computer skills including accounts package, MS Office and in-house CRM system.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships (internal/external).
  • Ability to effectively prioritise tasks and manage time.
