THE BUSINESSOur fantastic manufacturing client is experiencing tremendous growth at present. With recently announced investment, the business continues to go strength to strength. They seek to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join their excellent finance team in Durham. This role has a strong focus on the data processing side of finance crossed with credit control.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOINGPost day-to day transactions through the ERP system
- Update daily headroom sheet and monitor cash balances daily
- Timely processing of payments/cheques in from debtors
- Completing bank reconciliations including petty cash
- Verifying balances in account books and rectifying discrepancies
- Accurate processing and display of data, to compile the weekly reports, whilst sense-checking against budgets and averages
- Entering financial information into appropriate software programs
- Support in the completion of monthly reporting documents
- Support during external audits
- Updating monthly accounts support files and support with month end reconciliations
- Raise and send sales credit notes, additional Sales Invoice
- Assisting the finance department and senior accounting staff members with various tasks, including cost analysis and records
- Import documentation accurate reporting and collection of documentation for international purchases
- Debtor chasing
- Credit limit reviews and management
- Support with the year-end analysis, including midyear reviews
- Cross training within the department on Purchases, log intake and other areas
- Sending customer statements
THE PERSON- Work in small accounts team, where jobs may be shared depending on workloads, to ensure timely reporting and support to Managers where requested.
- Previous financial experience, particularly within data processing and credit control.
- Strong communication and relationship skills
- Motivated and enthusiastic
- Advanced computer use especially in Excel and Outlook
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks with effectiveness and efficiency
