Ranson Barnes Recruitment Ltd are pleased to be working with this fast growing and highly successful company in the renewable energy sector, with a turnover exceeding GBP12 million annually, who are seeking an experienced and highly organised Accounts Assistant to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast–paced environment and is confident in managing end–to–end bookkeeping responsibilities using Xero.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day–to–day bookkeeping tasks using Xero, including accurate data entry and account reconciliation

  • Handle invoices in and out, ensuring prompt processing and resolution of queries

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner

  • Monitor and record money in and out of the business

  • Support the organisation and coordination of staff wages and payroll–related records

  • Managing & creating financial reports as and when required

  • Maintain a well organised and up to date digital filing system for all financial documents

  • Support the Directors and external Accountants as required

Requirements:

  • Proven relevant experience ideally in a fast–paced business environment

  • Strong proficiency in Xero is essential

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping practices and VAT legislation

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude

  • Experience managing payroll processes is beneficial
