The Role

This is a unique opportunity to split your time between:

  • 3 days per week working directly on site with one of our charity clients, managing their day-to-day accounting function (Xero-based).
  • 1 day per week working with other small businesses, giving variety and great development opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Managing Xero for the charity: bookkeeping, reporting, reconciliations, and VAT
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns including partial exemption calculations
  • Assisting with year-end accounts and working with external auditors
  • Producing management reports, budgets and fund analysis
  • Supporting the wider practice with bookkeeping, VAT returns and ad hoc advisory for other clients
  • Helping clients understand their numbers and make better business decisions
Who You Are
  • AAT Level 3 or 4 (or qualified by experience)
  • Confident user of Xero (including reporting, bank feeds, and add-ons)
  • Hands-on experience with charity accounts and fund accounting
  • Solid understanding of partial exemption VAT
  • Comfortable working independently with clients
  • Friendly, professional and able to communicate clearly with non-finance people
What We Offer
  • A flexible, supportive environment where your input is valued
  • 4-day working week (approx. 30 hours)
  • Competitive pro rata salary: £25,600 – £30,400 (based on £32k–£37k FTE)
  • Opportunities to grow within the practice
  • Varied workload across sectors
