Vertu Accident Repair Centre - Based in Stafford

We're growing – and we're excited to offer a new opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our Ventures finance team, based at the VARC Hub in Ford Stafford.

In this role, you'll be part of our supportive team at Vertu Accident Repair Centre, working closely with Ace Parts – one of the UK's largest e-commerce suppliers of auto parts and accessories. Vertu Motors Ventures is part of Vertu Motors plc, the UK's 4th largest automotive retailer. Our Ventures division includes businesses like Ace Parts, The Taxi Centre and Vans Direct – all growing fast and full of opportunity.

Whether you're just starting out in finance or looking to take the next step in your career, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow and thrive in a dynamic and expanding business. We are offering up to £25,000 basic salary, depending on experience, plus an excellent range of Company benefits.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll play an important role in our day-to-day finance processes, including:

  • Managing sales and purchase ledgers (checking invoices and dealing with queries)
  • Posting and reconciling payments (Ebay, Amazon, PayPal, Stripe)
  • Helping with monthly accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting with daily bank postings, cashflow and credit control
  • Stock and returns reconciliations (including warehouse and returns goods)
  • Assisting with half-year stocktakes
  • Taking care of ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed

What We're Looking For

We welcome people with different skills and backgrounds. You might have experience in accounts already, or you might be working towards a finance qualification – we're open.

Here are some things that would help you succeed in this role:

  • A good eye for detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
  • Able to follow clear processes and instructions
  • Organised and good at managing time
  • A team player who communicates clearly
  • Experience in the motor trade or finance is helpful, but not essential
  • Willingness to learn and grow – we offer full training and ongoing support
