Job description

Vertu Accident Repair Centre - Based in Stafford

Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our VARC Hub located at Ford Stafford. If you wish to be part of one of the UK's largest Motor Retailers, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.

We offer a salary of up to £25,000 depending on experience, along with a comprehensive range of company benefits.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the smooth operation of the dealership's accounting and financial procedures. Key duties include:

  1. Assisting with sales ledger and purchase ledger tasks such as checking invoices, filing invoices and statements, and handling purchase inquiries.
  2. Supporting the production of monthly management accounts.
  3. Reconciliation of balance sheets.
  4. Managing daily banking, cash flow, and credit control.
  5. Performing ad-hoc accounting duties as required.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in accounts is preferred but not essential; experience in the motor industry would be advantageous.
  • If lacking experience, candidates working towards relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
