Job description

We're looking for an organised and approachable Accounts Assistant to expand our team at Bumblebee EV, East Kilbride.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm

About The Role

As an Accounts Assistant at Arnold Clark, you will report to the Branch Accountant and be responsible for the daily processing of key accounts functions including bank reconciliation, purchase ledger and sales ledger.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be a fantastic team player, with previous experience of working within an Accounts department.

Day-to-day duties

  • Posting/Reconciling the bank accounts
  • Registering purchase ledger invoices
  • Processing internal and external weekly purchase ledger payment runs
  • Processing customer refunds
  • Completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts
  • Assisting with the completion of the quarterly VAT return including running various monthly and quarterly VAT checks
  • Managing the shared accounts mailbox/dealing with queries promptly
  • Raising internal & external sales ledger invoices
  • Attending monthly credit control meeting with department management
Essential skills

  • Previous experience of working in an Accounts role
  • Great communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Polite telephone manner
  • A proactive and process-driven approach
  • Good levels of numeracy and literacy
  • Ability to organise workload to successfully achieve weekly / monthly reporting deadlines
  • Team player who works well meeting daily demands

A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel would be preferred, but training can be provided.

A knowledge of the Sage 50 accounts package would be beneficial but not essential.
