Accounts Assistant - Redruth - £24-28,000

Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively engaged by a past client, a highly successful and rapidly expanding architecturally focussed business that urgently seeks to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their team in a newly created role. The role is offered as a permanent, full time contract though this employer may consider applicants requiring a reduced working week (4 days/30 hours). The role will be based onsite at the client’s prestigious new headquarters located on the outskirts of Redruth.

Working closely alongside the Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a lead role in assisting with the company’s day-to-day bookkeeping and general accounting. The role represents a great opportunity for an Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper of general Finance Assistant to expand on their skillset in a friendly and well supported environment. Key responsibilities to include:

- Assist the Finance Director with all aspects of day-to-day accounting

- Take lead responsibility for the maintenance of the accounts payable and receivable function

- Bank reconciliations to be completed in a timely manner

- Monitor accounts receivable ledger to identify clients that pose a potential financial risk

- Develop effective relationships with clients and suppliers in order to manage any payment difficulties

- Ensure strict internal controls and aged debtor protocols are applied at all times

- Ensure that invoicing systems are maintained for accuracy

- Provide regular debtor reports with full commentary and action plan

- Ensure that all digital accounting tools and maintained and continuously review projects to improve efficiency of systems

For this role we’re looking for an experienced all round Finance Assistant with some aged debtor management experience or with a strong willingness to learn on the job! The company is currently transitioning to a bespoke accounting platform where full training will be provided, but an excellent aptitude for learning new systems will be advantageous. Candidates may be either part/fully AAT qualified and/or qualified by experience (minimum 12 months of recently gained experience).The person-fit is almost as valuable as technical experience as the successful candidate will be working as part of a small and busy team.
