Job description

The main purpose of the Reading based Accounts Assistant will be to support with invoicing, reconciliations and some support towards the month end close for the department.

Client Details

This business is based in central Reading and is easily accessible via the train station as well as having parking nearby. They are in new, open plan, state of the art offices in central Reading.

The team is well established and has a good track record of stability and tenure within the business. They are highly supportive and welcome new team members with training and advice at every point.

Description

The Accounts Assistant will be expected to:

  • Processing Invoices
  • Matching, batching, and coding purchase invoices
  • Ensuring timely and accurate data entry into accounting systems
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Reconciling bank statements with internal records
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Managing supplier payments and customer receipts
  • Chasing outstanding debts and maintaining aged debtor reports
  • Data Entry & Record Keeping
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Filing and organizing financial documents
  • Assisting with Month-End and Year-End Processes
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports
  • Assisting with journal entries and accruals
  • VAT Returns and Compliance

Profile

The ideal Accounts Assistant will be someone who is willing to commit to a short term temp role of initially 4 weeks, with the view to extend that at the end of the initial period.
