About the Role:

Join our dynamic and people-focused organisation as an Accounts Assistant, you'll be a self-starter contributing to a friendly and growing team. This role offers exciting opportunities to use your accounting expertise, working both independently and collaboratively, you will proactively identify and implement process improvements. Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Proactive debt collection via all types of communication and chasing overdue invoices, in accordance with payment terms.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for queries and build a rapport with clients to facilitate timely payments and resolve issues.
  • Setting up new clients and carrying out the necessary credit checks
  • Negotiate payment plans and set up terms and conditions.
  • Ensuring filing systems are kept up to date.
  • Assisting with archive maintenance.
  • Assisting with purchase ledger duties where required.
  • Driven and willing to take on additional responsibilities, including deputising for colleagues during absences.
  • Other ad hoc accounting duties.

Skills and Expertise Required:

  • AAT qualified (desirable but not essential)
  • Relevant experience in a previous accounting role.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (such as Xero) would be an advantage but training is also provided.
  • Outstanding organisational skills, able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Have a flexible, positive approach and be comfortable with a changing to do list
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Discreet and trustworthy
  • Tenacity and good problem solving skills
