Job description

I'm delighted to be recruiting an Accounts Assistant for a fast-growing business within Peterborough.

This position requires someone who has excellent attention to detail and is keen to work alongside a friendly team. As part of this role you’ll be involved in processing international payments and occasionally working with European currencies so an understanding of this is key.

About you

  • To be suitable for this role you’ll need strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices and ideally have a relevant accounting qualification such as AAT.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Some credit control experience
  • Well-rounded communication skills to speak with a variety of customers
  • Excellent Word and Excel skills

Your duties will include

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing & preparing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Complete month-end processes including bank and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Processing supplier invoices and credits.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 8.45AM – 5PM (fully site based)
