Job description

Astute Recruitment are proud to be working with a Derby-based client seeking someone assured in their abilities to manage day-to-day transactional finance processes and play a central role in maintaining financial accuracy and operational flow.

You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team in a company that values initiative, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and send purchase orders
  • Liaise with and chase suppliers where needed
  • Process invoices, book in goods received, match paperwork, and pass for payment
  • Prepare and process payment runs
  • Process sales orders and raise sales invoices as part of the dispatch process
  • Arrange shipping and logistics
  • Send statements to customers
  • Post daily bank transactions
  • Reconcile bank accounts weekly

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing purchase and sales ledger end-to-end
  • Payroll and pension processing knowledge advantageous
  • Comfortable using a variety of accounting software packages
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office
  • Strong communicator with a confident and personable manner
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Calm under pressure and able to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
  • Keen to contribute to process improvement

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary up to £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • 36.25 hours/week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm with a 45-minute lunch break)
  • 25.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • 5% employer contribution / 2.4% employee
  • Access to Paycare Level 1 scheme (employer-paid; Benefit in Kind)
