Accounts Assistant
Purpose of the role:
This role is responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable, including daily payment reconciliations, running overdue reports to aid in chasing customers, raising statements and VAT invoices to Travel,processing overhead invoices, tour invoices and prepayment invoices.
Location: This role is based in our office in Market Harborough.
Working Hours: Full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week 09:00 am-17:15 pm Monday to Friday with 45 minute lunch break.
In this role you will:- Assist with reviewing and processing overhead and supplier invoices in accordance with agreed authorisations controls and ensuring tour invoices are processed and paid to contracted terms.
- Assist with processing staff expenses and the monthly reconciliation of the company credit cards.
- Assist with the Holiday Director invoicing to ensure costs are paid in accordance with company policy. Liaising with the Holiday Directors to confirm any discrepancies and to provide support with their account submissions.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments in the business, using their expertise to overcome any supplier queries you may have.
- Check the aged creditors to investigate any anomalies intermittently.
- Assist with the tour accrual process.
- Proactively challenge discrepancies with the key stakeholders within the business and the suppliers and recommending change initiatives.
- Set up the payment run for manager approval.
- Reconcile bank transactions to the finance system and assisting with the month end banking process.
- Support receivables at busy times of the year, this could include but is not limited to
- Reconciling daily bank transactions to the booking system
- Running reports for overdue balances.
- Raising statements for travel agents
- Posting customer wire payments to bookings

- Accounts Receivable experience is preferred.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths & English.
- Have purchase ledger experience for a minimum of 1 year.
- Be proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
- Be computer literate in Word and Outlook, and especially Excel.
