Accounts Assistant (French Speaking) - 14-Month FTC (Maternity Cover)

Location: Manchester City Centre
Contract: 14-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Search are supporting a growing and well-established organisation in the heart of Manchester!

We're looking for a fluent French and English-speaking Accounts Assistant professional to join our finance team on a 14-month maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment with excellent benefits.

This will be on a full time basis working Monday to Friday (hours are flexible: 8-4pm, 8:30-4:30pm, 9-5pm) with hybrid working (2 days office and 3 days from home).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with processing purchase and sales ledger transactions
  • Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts
  • Prepare and post journals as required
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
  • Respond to internal and external finance queries

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
