Overview

Accounts Assistant - Up to £33,000 plus benefits & study support - Central London/hybrid

My client is looking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join the finance team at a leading high street leisure company. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations, supporting over 40 locations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in finance offering hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities
  • Process supplier invoices across 40+ locations accurately and efficiently
  • Set up and maintain supplier accounts within the accounting system
  • Manage the invoice approval process to ensure timely authorisation
  • Handle intercompany invoice recharges
  • Prepare and process payment runs through online banking
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis
  • Reconcile supplier statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Respond promptly and professionally to supplier queries
  • Provide ad hoc support to the wider finance team, particularly during periods of absence
Key skills / Qualifications
  • Previous Accounts Payable experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and expense coding
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and principles
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Xero (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
