About the Role:

We are seeking a diligent and motivated Accounts Assistant to join a prestigious, international retailer based in the Liverpool area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in finance within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reconciling bank statements and company accounts
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end financial procedures
  • Maintaining and updating financial records and ledgers
  • Supporting the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries
  • Assisting with payroll and expense processing as required
  • Providing general administrative support to the finance department
Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Desirable:

  • AAT qualified or working towards qualification
