Job summary

Kara Healthcare is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks across our care homes and head office. You will handle invoices, reconciliations, payments, and financial records, contributing to smooth financial operations.

The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and a proactive approach, with opportunities to learn and progress. AAT qualification or progress toward one is advantageous, and healthcare experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase invoices and ensuring they are correctly recorded.
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate payment records.
  • Carrying out bank and account reconciliations.
  • Helping to monitor outstanding invoices and payments.
  • Responding to finance-related queries from colleagues and suppliers.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assisting with month-end processes.
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports and information.
  • Filing and organising financial documentation.
  • Assisting with general finance administration.
  • Working with care home and head office teams to resolve financial queries.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks when required.

About Kara Healthcare

Behind our care teams is a dedicated support team that helps our homes run smoothly. Our finance team plays an important part in this, making sure invoices are processed, payments are made, records are accurate, and our teams have the financial support they need.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Accounts Assistant, you'll support the finance team with a range of day-to-day accounting tasks.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised, and keen to learn.

You don't necessarily need years of experience — we're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude and willingness to develop.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an accounts, finance, or administration role.
