Michael Page are delighted to be working with a brilliant business in Ilkeston who are looking to hire a permanent Accounts Assistant to their team.

This is a well established organisation who are looking for an Accounts Assistant.

Job Description

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including invoices and purchase orders.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other regulatory financial requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Accounting & Finance department as needed.
  • Respond to internal and external financial inquiries in a timely manner.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Accounts Assistant should have:

  • A background in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Completed or in the process of completing AAT Level 3 / 4 (or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and procedures in the UK.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines.
