A leading company in Great Yarmouth is seeking a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing credit control processes and maintaining strong client relationships. Our client, a profitable and successful business, is looking to appoint a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant based in their Great Yarmouth head office on a full-time permanent basis.
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to take ownership of their credit control and sales ledger function with support from the Finance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit finance team in Great Yarmouth, with plenty of scope to make a real impact.
You'll be responsible for the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring timely collections and maintaining strong relationships with clients. Alongside this, you'll manage the sales ledger, handle invoice queries, and support the wider finance function.
You will:
Oversee and manage credit control and debtor collection processes
Handle customer invoice queries promptly and professionally
Raise weekly and monthly invoices using a bespoke system
Assess customer risk and report concerns regarding bad debt
Monitor aged debt and maintain targets set by management
Reconcile accounts and conduct basic data analysis
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes efficiently
Provide reports and support for month-end processes
Process Direct Debit collections and ensure compliance with payment terms
We are looking for someone who has:
A minimum of 1 year's experience in a finance-related position, i.e Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
A highly organised, methodical, and accurate approach
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
A team-oriented mindset with integrity and accountability
The position offers a salary of £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with benefits and ongoing training opportunities. This is a full-time, permanent role based entirely on-site in Great Yarmouth.
