Job summary

A leading accountancy firm in Beaconsfield is looking for an Accounts Assistant to manage client accounts and prepare VAT returns. You will be responsible for producing management accounts and ensuring compliance with UK regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least AAT Level 3 and experience with cloud-based accounting software. The role offers hybrid working and various employee benefits.

Qualifications

Job Description

What will you be doing?

We're seeking a talented individual to join our team in Beaconsfield, predominately responsible for undertaking the preparation of VAT returns and other VAT compliance, accurate processing of clients' financial data and the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts.

As Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include among others

  • Manage portfolio of clients.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns from financial information supplied by client.
  • Completion of other VAT services including registration, de-registrations, options to tax, etc.
  • Prepare and input client transactions into computerised ledger system.
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts for clients.
  • Visit client premises to undertake on-site accounting needs as required.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should
  • AAT qualified (minimum Level 3)
  • Technical knowledge and an awareness of UK GAAP
  • Experience of computerised accounting packages including cloud-based software (Xero knowledge beneficial).
  • Ability to work independently but as part of a wider team.
  • Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high quality work that consistently meets internal and/or external client deadlines.
