ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

WATFORD

SALARY CIRCA £40,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Our client is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their small team, reporting directly to the Financial Controller/Director. This is a great opportunity to develop in a finance role as you will have the responsibility to play a vital role in the day-to-day management of the accounts function.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Accounts payable duties to include processing weekly/ad hoc suppliers payments via Barclays.net.
  • Maintenance of AP inbox to include the uploading of invoices to the financial software prior to authorisation.
  • Posting daily bank payment transactions for suppliers and nominal.
  • Reconciliation of supplier accounts, to include chasing invoices, statements, and ledgers.
  • Posting monthly credit card statement transactions onto ledger.
  • Cover of credit control function during maternity leave period and holiday periods.
  • Posting of daily bank receipts, chasing outstanding debt from trade debtors list, and replying to customer queries emails, sending reminders and legal letters.
  • Opening new client accounts, checking credit limits, consulting with other departments.
  • Assisting and preparing monthly accruals list for monthly management accounts from various sources.
  • Assisting and preparing monthly prepayments list for monthly management accounts.
  • Reviewing monthly ledgers postings and producing selected schedules for monthly packs.
  • Assist in gathering information for auditors during annual audit visit.

Skills required

  • Must be friendly, flexible with an initiative-taking approach to tasks.
  • Proficient Excel knowledge with a strong diligence.
  • QBE or part qualified, must have knowledge/experience and desire to perform in whole finance function.

Hours of Work Monday Friday 9.00am 5.00pm
