About

Accounts Assistant c£28k - Chichester

An established building services company based in Chichester is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their busy team.

Responsibilities Will Include
  • Processing weekly subcontractor payments
  • Reviewing and verifying subcontractor invoices for accuracy and compliance with job numbers
  • Processing payments to subcontractors in a timely manner
  • Ensuring proper documentation is received, including signed contracts and insurance certificates
  • Collaborating with project managers and site teams to confirm work completion and payment milestones
  • Maintaining accurate records of all transactions
  • Reconciling discrepancies between invoices, contracts, and reports
  • Responding to subcontractor inquiries and resolving payment issues
  • Making correct deductions from payments where applicable (e.g., Van Hire, Loans)
  • Maintaining schedules related to payments, loans, and van hire agreements
Purchase Ledger
  • Assisting with processing supplier invoices and resolving discrepancies
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements and investigation of outstanding items
  • Collaborating with procurement and site teams to resolve invoice queries
  • Processing PCN fines, speeding tickets, and related correspondence
Sales Ledger Support and Ad Hoc

Opportunities to assist with sales ledger tasks, including processing sales invoices, and supporting the wider finance team with administrative duties.

Qualifications And Key Skills Required
  • AAT level 2 or above
  • Professional and friendly telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work independently
  • High accuracy in processing
