Accounts Assistant

Permanent, Part-time

£26,000 - £30,000 per annum (pro-rata based on experience)

Summary

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated part-time Accounts Assistant to join their growing team, supporting their portfolio of over 33,000 products. You will provide efficient services within their UK operations to meet delivery timeframes. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, the ability to multi-task, and is self-motivated. The role is part-time (15 hours per week) and can be hybrid, with options for office and home-based work. Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Head of Accounts in overseeing daily account operations.
  2. Monitor and analyze accounting data; produce financial reports as needed.
  3. Maintain proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  4. Download and reconcile bank statements to allocate payments and receipts.
  5. Review and reconcile entries on the group Treasury system.
  6. Manage debt levels by reviewing the debtors' ledger and communicating with customers to recover overdue debts. Place accounts on stop in line with debt recovery processes and circulate the list to Area Sales Managers.
  7. Generate and release customer sales invoices for direct delivery.
  8. Process purchase order stock invoices and freight forwarder invoices, allocating costs to relevant sales orders.
  9. Distribute company credit card statements and process employee expense claims for approval.
  10. Run monthly sanction screening reports for submission to Headquarters.
  11. Perform other duties as required by the Head of Accounts.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an accounting role

  • A-level qualification (or equivalent) in Mathematics

Desirable:

  • SAP experience
  • Accounting qualification
  • Full clean UK driving license
