The position has a specific focus on purchase ledger, with some involvement in credit control and wider finance administration as and when required.
You will play an important role in keeping the day-to-day finance function running smoothly, working closely with colleagues across the business and building effective relationships with suppliers and customers.
Processing, coding and matching purchase invoices
Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date purchase ledger
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
Preparing supplier payment runs
Responding to supplier queries and maintaining good supplier relationships
Monitoring outstanding customer accounts
Assisting with credit control and following up overdue invoices when required
Allocating payments and keeping customer accounts up to date
Supporting the wider finance team with general accounts administration
Assisting with month-end activities and reconciliations
Providing support on other finance-related tasks as the business requires
We're looking for an organised, reliable and detail-focused Accounts Assistant who enjoys being part of a busy and progressive business.
Previous experience within a purchase ledger or transactional finance environment would be highly beneficial. However, we're also open to candidates with broader accounts experience who are keen to develop their skills further.
Experienced in purchase ledger or transactional accounts
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident dealing with invoices, reconciliations and financial records
Comfortable communicating with both suppliers and customers
Able to work independently and manage your own workload
Flexible and willing to support across different areas of the finance function
