Accounts Assistant – The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll be an integral part of our small, collaborative team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a variety of tasks across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll. You’ll work closely with clients to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and support the smooth running of daily operations within the practice.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Preparing accounts and liaising directly with clients
• Performing bookkeeping and payroll duties with accuracy and efficiency
• Using accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or Farmplan) to maintain financial records
• Supporting accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Keeping all financial documents well-organised, both digitally and on paper
• Collaborating with colleagues to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a small accountancy practice – essential
• Familiarity with accounts preparation for a range of business structures
• Proficiency in Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and/or Farmplan – desirable
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• A team player with a proactive mindset and a client-first attitude
