Job description

Accounts Assistant | Colne | Aerospace Manufacturing | Up to £28,000 | Study support

Your new company

I am working with a thriving business, based in Colne who are now looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent and full-time basis. This business is benefitting from a surge of organic growth, where they have successfully doubled their financial turnover to £20 million in the last 5 years.

Your new role

As Accounts Assistant, you will manage the company cashbook and petty cash & reconcile company bank accounts. You will process and deal with all debtors and creditors, ensuring transactions are valid and reconciled. You will support the FD with the management accounts, including maintaining the company fixed asset register, processing prepayments, accruals, VAT, supplier reconciliation and bank reconciliation. Alongside this, you will be involved in some transactional duties such as purchase ledger processing, sales ledger and payroll administration.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to finish early on Fridays.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful for this position, you will have worked in a similar position recently and be able to hit the ground running. You must be incredibly organised, manage your own workload with a self-starter attitude, and be confident picking up new systems. Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables are essential for this role, and ideally, you will have worked on SAP or another ERP system.

What you'll get in return

In return for this, you will be offered a full-time salary of £28,000 per annum. Alongside this, you are offered a range of benefits including 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, healthcare cash plan, hybrid working and parking onsite. As they are looking for a progressive individual, you will be offered full study support towards your CIMA / ACCA qualification.
