The Vacancy
This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely accounts payable activities within the Workday Financials system. Key responsibilities include processing supplier invoices, managing scheduled payment runs, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The role also supports employee expense submissions and contributes to audit preparation and compliance with internal financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Banking:
- Process supplier invoices and employee expenses through Workday, ensuring correct coding, approvals, and PO matching;
- Maintain supplier records in Workday, including banking details and tax information;
- Execute weekly payment runs in Workday, ensuring timely and accurate payments;
- Monitor and resolve issues related to payment failures or discrepancies;
- Respond to vendor queries and manage payment schedules to maintain strong supplier relationships.
Accounting:
- Post supplier payments to the general ledger and ensure correct allocation to cost centres;
- Reconcile supplier ledgers and resolve outstanding creditor items;
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately posted in Workday;
- Involvement in other financial reporting tasks and balance sheet reconciliations where required.
Audit & Controls:
- Support external audit deliverables related to AP and banking;
- Execute finance controls as outlined in process documentation and finance policies;
- Identify and escalate risks, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of how accounting rules apply to processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations;
- Familiarity with Workday or similar ERP systems beneficial.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience of working in a Finance team;
- Familiarity with Workday or similar ERP systems;
- Would suit recent university graduate or part-qualified accountant.
