A well-established service business in Chasetown is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant. You will support daily activities within the accounts department, ensuring financial processes run smoothly. Candidates with previous experience in accounts and good IT skills, particularly in Excel, are preferred. THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-established service business based in Burntwood, operating within the motor trade. With a strong local presence and a supportive working culture, they are looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. THE ROLE
Reporting to the Accountant, you will support the day-to-day activities of the accounts department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. Key responsibilities include:
• Posting daily card and cash banking, and processing and reconciling petty cash.
• Posting bank statements daily, including preparing month-end bank reconciliations.
• Running debtor reports and liaising weekly with department managers to resolve outstanding debts across Vehicles, Service, Parts, Rental and Warranty.
• Raising, processing and authorising payments such as refunds, cashbacks, goodwill, settlements and vehicle purchases in line with company policy.
• Supporting the department with additional ad hoc duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience in a similar role within a busy, fast-paced accounts department.
• Motor trade experience and Kerridge DMS knowledge (advantageous but not essential).
• Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
• A proactive, enthusiastic approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role would suit a graduate or school leaver.
