Qualifications

Job Description

What will you be doing?

We're seeking a talented individual to join our team in Cambridge, predominately responsible for undertaking the preparation of statutory accounts, accurate processing of clients’ financial data and the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and VAT returns.

As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include among others

  • Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements, including statutory accounts, partnership accounts and sole trader accounts for tax purposes
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Attending to client administration including engagement letters and billing processes
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns from financial information supplied by client
  • Completion of other VAT services including registration, de-registrations, options to tax, et
  • Supporting with bookkeeping duties for clients using packages such as Xero, Dext

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have experience

  • AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part-qualified
  • Technical knowledge and an awareness of UK GAAP
  • Experience of computerised accounting packages including cloud-based software (Xero and/or Silverfin knowledge beneficial)
  • Ability to work independently but as part of a wider team
  • Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high quality work that consistently meets internal and/or external client deadlines

Desired

  • Interest in leveraging technology for efficiency improvements
  • Experience of working across service lines (business tax, personal tax) to deliver a joined-up service to the client
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and colleagues in different locations
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in practice
