Job summary

An established industry player is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team. This hybrid role offers flexibility and involves managing billing, accounts receivable, and payable functions. The role:

We are supporting a growing and reputable business in recruiting an Accounts Assistant responsible for Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, cash reporting, and bank reconciliations. This role offers variety and services a UK-wide client base.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:
  • Manage client billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, focusing on reducing debtor days by coordinating invoicing with the Operations team.
  • Improve customer collection efficiencies and aged debtors, developing metrics and reporting to Senior Management.
  • Manage the Payables function, ensuring timely and accurate supplier payments, including processing invoices and reconciliations.
  • Set up new customer accounts, manage credit limits.
  • Maintain bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations.
  • Assist with VAT Return preparations.
  • Prepare cashflow reports for cash flow planning and liquidity management.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management and Accountants on budgets and accruals.
  • Prioritize and resolve issues efficiently, optimizing resources.
  • Report on Management Accounts.
Candidate requirements:
  • AAT Level 4 minimum; CIMA qualification or equivalent, or demonstrable experience.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50.
  • Excellent customer service skills and relationship-building abilities with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Additional job titles/skills:
