The Role

We are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with our fantastic engineering client based in Burgess Hill. The company has an excellent reputation for retaining staff due to the stable and rewarding work environment, with some of the team members having been with the company for 30 years or more. This role is a job share and encompasses a range of duties including Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger.

Typical tasks:

  • Print and post GBP Supplier invoices
  • Set up new Purchase Ledger supplier accounts
  • Download daily bank statements
  • Close end of day sales invoices
  • Update SIM statistic daily
  • Process reminder letters and email statements
  • Download bank statements

In addition, there will be weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks including:

  • Changing currency rates
  • Prepare sales Ledger reconciliation
  • Set up intercompany Purchase Ledger payments in Euro
  • Prepare BACS payments
  • Prepare Quarterly VAT returns and submit to HMRC
  • Assist Auditors with pre-audit in November and year-end in January
  • Assist auditors with annual consolidation of accounts
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant with solid accounts knowledge. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential. This role is a job share working 22 hours per week. Though ideally Wednesday to Friday, there may be opportunities for flexibility around the days worked. This is not a hybrid position; it will be office-based.
