These roles have become available due the successful progression of our current finance trainees onto higher finance roles within the Finance Business Team, we now have a great opportunity for a new cohort of Accounting Technicians to gain valuable skills, experience and knowledge in a dynamic finance environment whilst working towards an AAT qualification.
What We Offer:- Professional Growth: Our aim is to support you in achieving an AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting as part of our trainee accountant programme.

- Comprehensive Training: The post is for a fixed term of 15 months which would be split between working in the office and attending a training provider to undertake training to obtain AAT level 4 qualification
- Training Costs Covered: Walsall Council will cover the costs related to your training in line with our Learning and Development Policy.
What We’re Looking For:- Motivated Individuals: Willing to undertake an AAT Level 4 Qualification and progress through the course while developing Finance Business Partner skills.
- Qualifications: You will have achieved AAT Level 3 or a finance-related NVQ Level 3 qualification and have GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or higher.
Please note that progression to a higher level cannot be guaranteed.

The closing date for applications is 31st August 2025Interviews will be split into 2 stages for shortlisted applicants:
Stage 1 - will consist of a virtual pre-screening interview conducted via Microsoft Teams, which is expected to take place week commencing 8th September. If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited to attend Stage 2.
Stage 2 - will be a face to face interview within the Civic Centre. This stage will consist of a short test followed by an interview. These interviews are likely to be held week commencing 15th September.
