The Financial Management Service within the Resources and Digital group operates at the core of the Council's financial operations. The Service is focused on the optimisation and safeguarding of financial and other resources in a dynamic and challenging environment.

The role
Opportunities have arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Accounting Technician to join our accountancy team. Reporting to an Accountant you will undertake a wide range of accountancy duties including drafting budget documentation and monitoring reports for consideration by Accountants and Services and closure of Service accounts at the end of the financial year.
You will be required to provide financial advice and relevant, accurate and timely information to Council services, assist in the operation and maintenance of information systems and ensure assets and resources are accounted for properly.
What are we looking for:
Essential Criteria
Relevant Financial Management systems.
AAT Qualified or equivalent (NVQ Level 4) or hold a relevant post qualification experience with relevant CPD
Ability to work with minimum supervision and organise own
Ability to manage with heavy workloads within tight
Ability to liaise with a wide variety of internal and external
Good working knowledge of financial based systems and using office-based software packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook applications).
