Why This Role Matters
Christie’s is seeking a highly skilled and experienced finance professional to lead the implementation of the FRED 82 amendments to FRS 102. This role will be pivotal in ensuring a smooth transition to the updated accounting standards, with a focus on lease accounting, revenue recognition, and other key changes. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with finance, tax, systems, and training teams to deliver a compliant and efficient implementation by January 2026.
How You'll Make an Impact
You will lead the transition in FRS102 changes and lead the teams impacted in implementing these changes
You will be instrumental in conducting detailed impact assessments on leases, revenue streams, tax, KPIs, and bank covenants
Draft and update accounting policies in line with revised FRS 102 requirements
Coordinate with software teams to assess and implement system changes
Oversee the development and delivery of training material
Update month-end processes and internal controls documentation
Liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and readiness
Manage the roll out of changes in 2026
Review the impact on group reporting to the parent under IFRS; and assess the impact transition on the financial statements.
What you’ll bring to the team
A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
Have in-depth understanding of FRS 102, particularly Sections 20, 23, and related updates.
Experience with IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 is highly desirable, and you will preferably have IFRS 16 transition and project management experience.
Self motivated, able to independently and also as part of a team, with good communication skills to all levels of stakeholders.
Familiarity with lease accounting software is desirable.
