Job summary

SC Johnson is seeking an Accounting Team Lead in Frimley on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity. You will ensure timely month-end and year-end reporting, explain accounts to regional finance teams, and uphold internal controls including SOX compliance for SSC processes.

You will lead and develop the accounting team, recruit and train staff, and drive cross-country process improvements and LEAN initiatives while coordinating with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification or degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Solid business and accountancy knowledge.
• Experience leading a growing team and supporting senior management.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Familiar with SAP, BPC and BW systems.
• Exposure to US GAAP.
• Able to work in a multicultural team.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end financial reporting.
• Explain finance accounts to local/regional Finance members as needed.

• Lead, develop and empower the Accounting team; recruit and train as needed.

Accounting Team Lead

• Location: Frimley
• Function: Finance, SSC
• Contract: Fixed Term

About the role

This is a fixed term contract position to cover maternity.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely month end and year-end financial reporting
• Provide explanation of finance accounts, as required by the local or regional Finance members
• Responsible for the application of policies and internal controls
• Responsible for Sarbanes Oxley compliance for the SSC processes
• Responsible for the annual external audit and any internal audit
• Lead and develop the Accounting team
• Provide clear direction and empowerment to the team, so they can perform at the expected standards
• Recruit, train and develop the team members
• Help to build an environment to stimulate creative thinking and innovation towards continuous improvement
• Foster a ‘great place to work’ environment
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journals for completeness and accuracy
• Reducing complexity via LEAN methodologies
• Drive and sustain cross country process improvement and commonality, within the SSC and the local countries
• Support the management team in implementing the SSC Strategic Vision
• Lead the weekly Team Huddles
• Ad-hoc projects as required

Experience you’ll bring:

• Accounting qualification/Finance or Accounting degree
• Business and accountancy knowledge

• Knowledge of SAP, BPC and BW
• US GAAP exposure
