About the Role

You'll be working as an Associate (equivalent to a Senior or Assistant Manager in most Accountancy firms) in our Tax and Accounting team, and report to Associate Directors, Senior Associates and Managers. You may also work directly with the Director. The role is full time however candidates who are seeking to work 4 days per week will also be considered.

Your role will be vital in supporting our strong client base including the subsidiaries of large overseas groups, SPVs and holding companies, third-sector clients and private trading companies.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing annual accounts, corporation tax returns, and management accounting reports for a portfolio of clients (including large international groups)
  • Reviewing bookkeeping, preparing management accounting reports and VAT returns etc. (which you should undertake with little supervision)
  • Supporting to Senior Associates and Managers in ensuring that client tax and accountancy needs are met. This may involve working on R&D claims, SIES/EIS submissions, tax advice, bespoke reporting etc.
  • Being an expert in the software packages that we use on a daily basis (Xero, IRIS and Dext), teaching software skills to Junior Associates and bookkeepers, and supporting the wider team.
  • Developing and owning strong relationships with client staff.
  • Working closely with other members of the team and the wider firm to ensure client needs are met.
  • The Tax and Accounting department currently consists of one Director, two Associate Directors, one Senior Manager, ten Senior Associates and Associates, as well as our helpful support team that we share with the Company Secretarial, Governance and Economic Crime departments. There will be plenty of support and assistance and you\'ll learn new skills and develop existing knowledge and experience.
About You

  • You must be ACA, ACCA, ICAS or CIMA qualified (affiliates or other qualifications will not be considered).
  • At least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience.
  • A proven track record of delivering tax and accountancy services for a portfolio of clients.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of tax legislation and accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience with IRIS and Xero would be preferable but not essential.
