A leading financial services group is seeking an individual to communicate complex accounting topics to non-specialists and develop training materials for new accounting standards. Qualifications

Job description

Our team is dedicated to providing clear communication on complex accounting topics and issues to non-specialists, interpreting and practically applying accounting standards in their commercial context. We also devise training materials to present on new and existing accounting standards and policies. Key to our success is intellectual curiosity and the ability to grasp complex concepts quickly, supported by technical accounting and IFRS standards experience.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our advertised location.

What role will you play?

You will clearly communicate complex topics and issues to non-specialists and be able to interpret and practically apply accounting standards. You will devise training material to enable the Accounting Policy and Advisory Group to present on new and existing accounting standards and accounting policies. You will have ownership over your work and be supported by various senior members of the team. Your intellectual curiosity and ability to grasp complex concepts quickly will be key to your success in this role.

What you offer

  • Tertiary degree in business or commerce and relevant accounting certification (CA/CPA)
  • Chartered Accountant with accounting experience either within a Big 4 Chartered Accountancy firm or in an Accounting Policy team
  • Extensive experience within a technical accounting role
  • Experience in interpreting and advising on impacts of changes in standards to the business
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience
