Description

  1. Oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, with significant focus on the agricultural sector
  2. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality accounting services tailored to client-specific needs
  3. Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive service
  4. Supervise daily operations of the accounts department
  5. Mentor, develop and guide team members, with particular focus on trainee development
  6. Collaborate with partners and other departments to ensure smooth workflow
  7. Contribute to departmental strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
  8. Deliver comprehensive accounts preparation and financial reporting
  9. Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance for diverse client base
  10. Apply specialised knowledge of agricultural accounting practices when needed
  11. Maintain awareness of regulatory changes affecting clients
  12. Lead client meetings and consultations
  13. Identify additional service opportunities and areas for client growth
  14. Provide ad-hoc financial advice and solutions to client queries
  15. Translate complex financial information into actionable insights for clients
  16. Stay current with accounting standards and tax regulations
  17. Contribute to knowledge sharing within the firm
  18. Participate in relevant training and continuous professional development
  19. Help establish and maintain best practices within the department

Profile

  1. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  2. Substantial experience in accounting practice, particularly with agricultural clients
  3. Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations
  4. Experience with accounts preparation, tax compliance, and financial reporting
  5. Familiarity with agricultural accounting and industry-specific requirements
  6. Proficiency with accounting software and digital tools
  7. Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop team members
  8. Experience in workflow planning and department coordination
  9. Excellent delegation and project management skills
  10. Exceptional client relationship management abilities
  11. Confident in leading client meetings and delivering presentations
  12. Proactive problem-solver who can identify opportunities beyond compliance work
  13. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to clients
