Sleek is seeking an experienced accounting professional to own a growing SME portfolio in Leeds. You will manage end-to-end work from year-end accounts to VAT and CT, review and sign off your team’s output, and coach staff to get it right the first time.

You will explain numbers to business owners in plain terms, chase deadlines, keep records accurate, and collaborate with Product, Tech, Sales and Support, leveraging AI tools to scale to 500 clients.

Qualificações

• Experience preparing management accounts and explaining them to business owners in plain terms.
• Expert knowledge of UK statutory accounts (FRS 102 and 105) for private limited companies.
• Strong knowledge of corporation tax and VAT for private limited companies.
• Fully qualified ACCA/ICAEW/ICAS member.
• Minimum 5 years in UK accounting practice, including 2 years running own portfolio of 150+ SME clients.
• Comfortable with Xero or similar cloud accounting.
• Experience reviewing and managing a team, including remote/offshore staff.
• Ability to coordinate with Product, Tech, Sales and Support to drive change.

Responsabilidades

• Own a portfolio that starts at around 300 UK small business clients and grows to around 500 through 2027, delivered through a team of accountants based mostly in India and the Philippines. You are responsible for every client in it: their work is filed on time and accurate, and they can rely on you to explain what their numbers mean
• Run your portfolio end to end: year end accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns and confirmation statements
• Review and sign off your team’s work, and coach them so it’s right the first time
• Prepare management accounts for clients who need them, and take calls with clients to explain their accounts and what they mean for their business
• When a client’s delay puts a deadline at risk, chase early, keep a record, and make sure the client understands the consequences in good time
• Keep client records and workflow data accurate, so anyone can see where each client stands
• Work with Product, Tech, Sales, Support and Onboarding to fix problems where they start
• Use the AI tools we are building into our products and workflows, and help shape them
