Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager to join our team in Southampton, within our large Accounting and Business Advisory (ABA) department.

Our Consulting division integrates teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing to deliver client-centric solutions for middle-market clients. With over 1,700 professionals and nearly £200m revenue, we focus on six key solutions: business transformation, deal services, finance support, risk and governance, forensic services, and restructuring, all tailored to help clients achieve their strategic goals.

The role involves managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring high standards of service, and supporting business growth through opportunities and business development. You will provide GAAP support, advisory services, and liaise with audit and tax teams. Expertise in FRS 102, FRS 101, Companies Act, and IFRS is essential, with additional knowledge in acquisition accounting, share-based payments, and debt modifications advantageous.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage client portfolios, including resource planning, client communication, and meeting deadlines.
  2. Lead and review work of junior team members, providing feedback and training.
  3. Maintain technical knowledge and provide support and advice to directors, partners, and clients.
  4. Ensure timely billing and profitability of work in progress.
  5. Identify cross-selling opportunities and participate in recruitment and training processes.
  6. Oversee appraisal processes and support staff development.
  7. Perform final reviews, client meetings, and ensure delivery of final accounts and reports.
  8. Participate in administrative and ad hoc departmental tasks.
