Job summary

RSM UK in Reading is seeking an Associate Director to lead accounting and financial reporting for a client portfolio and to drive growth across the consulting practice. You will coach and develop teams while delivering premium service to mid-market clients.

You’ll work across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, Accounting and Outsourcing, ensuring strong IFRS/UK GAAP knowledge and proactive business development with client principals.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant with ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
• Extensive UK GAAP reporting experience including group reorganisations and consolidations.
• Strong IFRS, FRS102 and Companies Act reporting knowledge.
• Proven business development experience and client-facing skills.
• Experience as a line manager with coaching and development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services for a portfolio of clients.
• Identify opportunities to grow the department and participate in business development.
• Coach and develop junior team members and AFR staff.
• Ensure IFRS/UK GAAP compliance and robust reporting to clients.
• Manage projects, budgeting, costing and client relationships.

Consulting brings together multiple teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, Accounting and Outsourcing to provide client-centric solutions for RSM’s current and future clients within the middle market. Our Consulting team has a major role to play in driving forward the growth of the firm with over 1,700 people delivering in excess of £200m revenue.

At the heart of Consulting are the six solutions we offer our clients: business transformation, deal services, finance function support, risk and governance, forensic and investigation services, and restructuring. Our solutions create an enhanced tailored approach to support our clients in achieving their strategic goals and empower our people to make an impact and develop their own unique career path.

We are looking for an Associate Director to join our Reading office, who is passionate about developing business with new clients and has experience of coaching and developing teams. Our client base has a mixture of entities from large private and Private Equity owned corporates to owner managed businesses.

You’ll make an impact by

• Leading the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services on a portfolio of clients, always providing a premium service, whilst taking an active role in the growth of the department through the identification of opportunities and associated business development activities.
• Having a strong awareness of IFRS,FRS102, FRS101 and Companies Act reporting requirements.
• Having a key focus on business development, working with the Partner Group on business plans and participating in targeting and lead generation.
• Managing the working capital of projects, including budgeting, cost management, billing and debt recoverability.
• Managing relevant AFR team’s performance, ensuring appropriate objectives set and development plans in place for junior members.

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
• Complex UK GAAP reporting including group reorganisations and consolidations.
• Strong technical skills, with knowledge of IFRS, FRS102 and Companies Act reporting.
• Business development experience.
• Experience as a Line Manager with advanced coaching and development skills.
• Proven ability to quickly build rapport with client principals and colleagues.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
