Morrisons, a leading UK supermarket group, is seeking a Treasury Accountant to manage daily cash and liquidity, monitor commodity and FX risks, and support the foreign exchange risk management process.

Reporting to the Treasury Manager, you will deliver daily reporting to senior management, contribute to funding strategy, and work with banks and other counterparties. The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent and strong Excel/data skills, with interest in energy and global markets.

More about the role
As Treasury Accountant, you will manage the daily cash and liquidity position, be responsible for the identification, monitoring, and management of commodity risk and support the foreign exchange risk management process. Reporting to the Treasury Manager, you will prepare daily reporting and insight for senior management showing performance and risk positions.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring and forecasting the cash flow and liquidity of the business
• Providing input and support for the strategy and management of funding arrangements
• Monitoring and managing market risks, including: commodity, foreign exchange, and interest rate risk. This involves dealing with external counterparties to transact hedging contracts and execute money market trades
• Participating or leading projects to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Treasury function
• Supporting the Treasury Manager in responding to Know Your Customer requests and other bank requirements
  

More about you
For this role, we are looking for someone who has:

• A relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent)
• Strong excel skills, excellent data manipulation and analysis skills
• Ability to influence and work constructively with colleagues across the business and at all levels and with external counterparties (including banks, money market funds, and FX & Commodity counterparties)
• Experience working within a corporate or financial services treasury function is desirable but not required.
• An interest in the global economy and a desire to learn more about the world of Treasury.
• An interest in Energy markets, FX markets and business risk
• A track record of delivering with accuracy and with attention to detail
• An interest in developing initiatives to speed up and simplify the Group Treasury function (i.e. through the use of AI, technology or other process improvements).
