Accountant (Tax/Treasury)

Our high-growth client in the retail sector is looking for a new Accountant (Tax/Treasury) to join their expanding team in Central London. Reporting to the Head of Reporting, this role encompasses strong technical tax and treasury responsibilities, as well as general accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Tax
  • Ownership of the group's monthly and quarterly tax processes, ensuring computations, submissions, and payments are made on time, with accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Liaise with external auditors to calculate individual entity and group consolidated corporation tax submissions.
  • Monitor legislation changes, providing commentary and interpretation of potential impacts, and recommend policy and process updates.
  • Oversee VAT compliance and filings across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Sweden, and France.
Treasury
  • Support the month-end close process with journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Oversee cash reporting, including daily and weekly cash reports and forecasts to the parent company.
  • Establish FX/hedging policies to maximize the company's capital assets.
  • Maintain real-time oversight of global bank accounts.
Transfer Pricing
  • Develop group transfer pricing strategies, working with external providers to benchmark and devise transfer pricing policies.
  • Manage intra-group company agreements, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure effective operation of transfer pricing strategies.

The ideal candidate will be newly qualified with a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CTA. A strong understanding of corporate tax, VAT, and tax regulations is essential for accurate tax reporting and analysis. General accounting skills including month-end close, cash reporting, and cash flow forecasting are required. Proficiency in systems such as Excel is necessary, with Dynamics 365 experience being a plus.
