Job summary

Merlin Entertainments is seeking an Accountant - R2R in London/Hybrid to oversee global record-to-report activities. You will manage month-end processes, ensure strong financial controls, and collaborate with Finance Hub and business colleagues to meet timelines and KPIs.

In this FTC role ending 18 December 2026, you will support indirect and local tax reporting and liaise with auditors while driving process improvements across the R2R function.

What you'll bring to the team

Accountant - R2R

Location: London/Hybrid

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: FTC - End Date: December 18th 2026

You will play a crucial role in the Global Record to Report team, ensuring accurate and timely financial control, accounting, and reporting activities in compliance with company policies and standards. You will collaborate with various departments and key stakeholders to support the financial reporting process, drive best practices, and enhance process efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives using Visual Management tools. A core part of your role will involve completing key tasks within scheduled timelines while maintaining strong financial controls, and building robust relationships with Finance Hub and business colleagues to ensure delivery and provide measurable assistance.

Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting month-end reporting, achieving SLAs and KPIs, and upholding financial controls according to group policies. Your duties will include assisting with indirect tax, local tax, and ad hoc statistical reporting, as well as liaising with internal and external audit teams. You will evaluate and identify areas for process improvement within the Record to Report team, ensuring maximum efficiency. Your strong communication skills will be essential for coordinating month-end close activities across multiple functions, and your proactive approach will help drive activities to successful completion.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience working in a shared services role, preferably within a similar operating model and size of organisation
• Part-qualified finalist/newly qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with considerable experience within a finance role
• Experience of Month End close process
• Experience of process improvements and standardising finance processes
• Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders
• Proactive, with experience of working in a flexible and changing environment
• Communication skills necessary to coordinate month end close across multiple functions
• Attention to detail with a proactive approach to obtaining appropriate supporting evidence
• Coordination with divisional finance organisations to highlight/resolve issues
• Confident to engage and challenge senior stakeholders on change, process, and policies
