Your new company

Senior Accountant - 12-month contract

Location - Belfast

Monday to Friday - 9am - 5pm

Your new role

Are you a skilled accountant with a passion for working in a dynamic environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity with a leading provider of scientific research and services to government bodies for a position of Senior Accountant.

  • Assist with accountancy-focused tasks for multiple finance systems improvement projects, in preparation for onboarding to a new finance and business management system.
  • Re-structure and mapping of the organisations Chart of Accounts to match that of Account NI
  • Introduce and embed a No PO, No Pay policy
  • Reconciliations of all control accounts
  • Management and development where necessary of system interfaces (CORA, ISLAND, AFBI220, new PO requisition API)
  • Manage the testing of new builds of CORA to ensure functionality of the Finance module.
  • Liaise with the internal CORA admin team and external CORA supplier team to report and resolve functionality issues in relation with the Finance module.
  • Lead, manage and motivate staff to ensure continuous improvement of the services they provide to the organisation.
  • Ensure effective management of staff, including absence and performance management.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Have successfully passed the final professional examinations and be a full current member of one of the professional bodies.
AND
  • Have at least two year's practical experience, gained within the last five years, in one of the following: Financial Planning and Budgeting; Financial Accounting/Auditing, Financial Reporting and Costing or Development/Implementation of Financial Systems.
AND
  • Demonstrable excellent Excel skills, with practical experience of using VLOOKUPS and XLOOKUPS
