Job summary

MCS Group are recruiting an Accountant to join this well established practice in South Belfast.

You will prepare statutory and management accounts, complete VAT returns, handle bookkeeping and assist with personal and corporate tax work, plus support audit assignments across a varied client base.

With study support for ACA/ACCA and a flexible, collaborative environment, you will rotate between service teams to broaden experience and deliver high‑quality client service.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• Qualified by Experience (QBE) or ACA/ACCA.
• Strong technical accounts knowledge.
• Experience across accounts preparation, tax and bookkeeping.
• Confident with a diverse portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory and management accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Complete VAT returns, bookkeeping and a small amount of payroll processing.
• Prepare both corporate and personal tax returns.
• Support audit assignments, gaining exposure across a range of engagements.
• Rotate between service teams to broaden experience across accounts, audit, tax and business services.
• Work closely with experienced colleagues in a collaborative, supportive environment.
