Job summary

Recruitment Solutions in Brighton is expanding its accountancy team with a full-time role for an experienced accountant seeking the next step.

You will support multiple clients, work closely with the Director across the full finance function, and benefit from a full training and study package (AAT/CIMA/ACCA). Salary is up to £45,000, depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Numbers oriented, motivated and organised; strong attention to detail.
  • Legal right to work in the UK and 3 years UK Accountancy practice experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow).
  • Contribute to development, enhancement and presentation of management reporting packs.
  • Produce and maintain KPI dashboards and tailored management information for a varied client base.
  • Review financial performance, identifying trends and variances to support commercial decision making.
  • Maintain purchase and sales ledgers across multiple client accounts.
  • Process invoices and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete reconciliations (bank, debtor, creditor, control accounts).
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support year-end accounting processes and liaise with external accountants/auditors.

Overview

A modern and growing accountancy practice is looking to add a NEW member of the team! This is a forward-thinking environment that blends traditional finance with modern systems.

This is a full-time permanent position, designed for someone looking for the next step in their accounting career or who's looking to transition into a professional well-structured business to gain more accounts exposure.

You will support multiple clients and work closely with the Director, gaining exposure across the full finance function - from core accounting through to management reporting and commercial insight.

A full training and study support package is included (AAT/CIMA/ACCA).

Salary is up to £45,000, depending on experience. Higher salaries may be discussed.

Duties
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow reporting
  • Contribute to the development, enhancement and presentation of management reporting packs
  • Produce and maintain KPI dashboards and tailored management information for a varied client base
  • Review financial performance, identifying trends and variances to support commercial decision making
  • Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledgers across multiple client accounts
  • Process sales invoices, supplier invoices, credit notes and payments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Complete monthly reconciliations, including bank, debtor, creditor and control accounts
  • Assist with VAT returns and support other statutory and compliance reporting requirements
  • Support year-end accounting processes and liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
  • Assist with client onboarding, including accounting system setup and process implementation
  • Respond to client information requests and provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support
  • Work with modern cloud-based accounting systems, supporting automation and AI-driven finance processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and accuracy across client reporting through smarter workflows and systems
What we’re looking for

A successful candidate will be numbers oriented, motivated, organised, and keen to develop a fruitful career. You must live within a 1 hour commute.

Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK and have 3 years UK Accountancy practice experience.
