Job summary

Butler Rose Ltd is supporting a well-established, independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors in Leeds to recruit an Accountant. This hybrid Leeds role offers a salary up to £45,000 (DOE) and a varied portfolio across Yorkshire.

You will prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies, use Iris and Sage, develop client relationships and contribute to improvement of processes within a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/AAT qualification or finalist is required.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and practice.
• Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Iris, Sage and cloud accounting tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies using manual or electronic records.
• Identify improvements and cross-sell opportunities with clients.
• Prepare and present financial statements.
• Prepare tax returns for personal, partnership and company taxes using Iris and Sage.
• Prepare VAT returns using appropriate software.
• Complete Company Secretarial duties using Iris.
• Ensure deadlines for accounts, tax and VAT are met and liaise with managers on queries.
• Maintain Iris client data accuracy and assist debt collection as needed.
• Support colleagues with CPD and professional development and contribute to process improvements.
