Job summary

Xeinadin in Long Eaton is seeking an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using Sage and Xero, and to prepare year-end statutory accounts.

You will handle VAT returns (MTD), maintain accurate records, and provide excellent client service by phone and email, with strong attention to detail and good IT skills.

Qualifications

• My bookkeeping experience includes using Sage Accounts and Xero.
• Able to prepare year-end statutory accounts.
• AAT qualification or QBE would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.

Description

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team, handling day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using Sage and Xero, along with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of work.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, including Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records using Sage, Xero and other accounting software.
• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Provide excellent client service, assisting with queries via phone and email.
• Liaise effectively with clients and colleagues to resolve queries and gather information.

Key Requirements

• Must be able to use Sage Accounts and Xero, with proven bookkeeping experience.
• Able to prepare year-end statutory accounts.

Additional Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel.
• AAT qualified, part-qualified accountant, or QBE would be advantageous.
