Job summary

Confidential, a private property investment company with a Canary Wharf portfolio, is seeking a pro-active Accountant to join their team on an initial 6 month FTC with potential for longer term.

The role will involve full bookkeeping, client accounting and management accounts, ensuring the smooth financial running of the business in a lettings environment. Previous residential lettings accounts experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts and bookkeeping within residential lettings or property management.
• Part qualifications (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) considered essential.
• Strong Excel and IT skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Vendor and client management with attention to contractual terms.
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, P&L, and cash flow.
• Maintain accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Establish internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate and support external audits and regulatory requirements.

We are working in association with a privately-owned property Investment Company owning a unique portfolio of residential properties based in Canary Wharf, who are seeking a pro-active Accountant to join their team on an initial 6 month FTC with the potential for a longer term role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Property Management Accounts Manager/ Bookkeeper to join a leading independent lettings agency, based full-time in the client offices which are located in Canary Wharf.

The role will involve full bookeeping, client accounting and management accounts, always ensuring the smooth running of the financial side of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor and Client Management: Oversee financial transactions with vendors and clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal regulations.
• Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, credit control and general ledger entries.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent financial discrepancies.
• Audits: Coordinate and support external audits, address audit queries, and implement audit recommendations.
• Compliance and Regulation: Stay updated on accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices. Implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

Skills and Experience

• Previous accounts and bookkeeping experience essential, with AAT or ACCA/CIMA part qualification
• Residential lettings and property management accounts experience essential.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Possess strong time management skills.
• Possess good IT skills, including Excel (intermediate level).
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team and under own initiative.
• Demonstrate very good written and verbal communication skills.
